Akhmad Hanan
Akhmad Hanan is a researcher at Purnomo Yusgiantoro Center (PYC).
At PYC, he coordinates research in energy law and geopolitics. He also managed PYC data center since its first installment. He has been active since undergraduate, as he actively participated in field research as an expert assistant in a remote sensing “Expedition of NKRI Maluku Corridor – North Maluku (Ekspedisi NKRI koridor Maluku – Maluku Utara)” by the Special Forces Command (Komando Pasukan Khusus (Kopassus)) of an Indonesian Army in 2013. His paper entitled “Mapping of the Ocean Thermal Energy Conversion (OTEC) Potential in Indonesia” entered the top ten best paper of national technology conferences organized by the Agency for the Assessment and Application of Technology (BPPT) in 2016.
Various studies related to energy have also been conducted by him, such as maritime infrastructure study, solar home system (SHS) feasibility study, and assessment of off-grid electrification. He also studies strategic policies on defense and security in Indonesia. His articles and opinions can be found in numerous media.
Away from work, he loves traveling, playing kites, fishing, watching football and learning computer programming to fulfill his dream to have a digital startup someday.
He earned his bachelor degree in Oceanography major at Universitas Diponegoro (UNDIP). He also holds a master degree in Energy Security at Universitas Pertahanan (UNHAN) (Indonesia Defense University) in 2017.
